It doesn’t cost anything to pop in your tried-and-true holiday music CD and have an impromptu dance party—or simply listen to the songs as you watch the Christmas lights glow. Nothing puts you in the seasonal spirit quite like belting out your favorite tunes with family and friends!

Dig up family photos

This time of year is all about family. Wrangle the crew together and spend some time looking at old family photos. As you leaf through the pages of your favorite albums, you can’t help but remember what this season is all about: spending time with the ones you love. Plus, a few candid shots or questionable outfit choices of yesteryear are sure to elicit lots of laughs.

Look at Christmas lights

Colorful Christmas lights provide the perfect backdrop to your holiday adventures! The best part is, “oohing” and “awing” at the lights in your neighborhood or nearby shopping areas is fun and cost-free. Pack some hot cocoa for the road and feel warm and cheery inside as you stroll or drive past the elaborate displays, that seem to get bigger and better every year.

Give back

One of the simplest ways to get into the holiday spirit is to give back! Spend time working with a charity you care about, or donate your time to a worthy cause. No matter how you do it, giving back is a great way to spend the season and teach your family about the importance of generosity all year long.

Take part in local fun

Local events are lots of fun—and, often, free to enjoy! Head to your town’s tree lighting ceremony (Orlando’s Lake Eola has a particularly fun event planned, for example) or take part in the fun at a local park. This time of year is a great time to rediscover what you love about your city.
